The Cleveland Browns will start rookie QB Johnny Manziel against the Cincinnati Bengals this week, according to reports by NFL insiders.
FOX Sports’ insider Jay Glazer was the first to break the news that Manziel and Brian Hoyer were informed that Manziel would start:

Hoyer started the season 7-4, giving the Browns their highest win total since 2007, but after two straight losses which featured Manziel performing well in spot duty, the now 7-6 Browns decided to give their 2014 1st-round selection a chance to keep the Browns’ fading playoff hopes alive.
Manziel won the 2012 Heisman trophy as the QB of the Texas A&M Aggies, becoming the first freshman in history to win the prestigious award. After an impressive Pro Day, Manziel was taken by the Browns with the No. 22 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
