The Buffalo Bills have started their season 2-2 with E.J. Manuel in his second year as the team’s starting quarterback. However, the team is looking to move in a different direction.
In a somewhat shocking move, the Bills have decided to bench Manuel and name Kyle Orton their starting quarterback for their Week 5 game against the Detroit Lions.
Manuel threw two interceptions in the Bills’ loss to the Houston Texans, which cost them the win since they lost by only six points.
It is unclear why the Bills are benching Manuel this early on, but head coach Doug Marrone said that Orton is “ready to go.”
