Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has made many headlines throughout his career for his accomplishments, but his latest string of attention has been for the wrong reasons.
Peterson was indicted on child abuse charges for allegedly beating his four-year-old son with a switch in an attempt to discipline him. The Vikings deactivated him as the investigation went on, and a plea deal has recently been reached that helped Peterson avoid jail time.
The Vikings attempted to have Peterson reinstated immediately, but the NFL denied their request. They are expected to review the case and possibly discipline the running back.
Here is a tweet from the official Sports Illustrated Twitter account updating on the Peterson saga.
