Running back LeGarrette Blount was released by the Pittsburgh Steelers for leaving the Monday night game early, and he reportedly did this because he was unhappy with not receiving a single carry.
The New England Patriots decided to bring him back on a two-year deal with a minimum veteran contract. Blount previously played with the Patriots and provided a boost in their running game.
Blount made his most notable contribution in the playoffs when he ran over the Indianapolis Colts defense for 166 yards and four touchdowns.
The Patriots now have Shane Vereen, Jonas Gray and Blount in their backfield. Here is a tweet from the official New England Patriots Twitter account announcing the move.
