In a recent report, it was stated that the NFL security chief had received the tape of former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice punching his wife in a casino elevator.
However, the NFL has insisted that there is no evidence that the tape was sent or that any call was made to notify the NFL of the tape being delivered, according to an ESPN report.
NFL security chief Jeffrey Miller issued a statement after the report of him receiving the tape came out. “I unequivocally deny that I received at any time a copy of the video and I had not watched it until it was made public on September 8,” the security chief said.
The league has also continually denied seeing the video until TMZ had released it earlier in September. The investigation by the FBI will continue, but commissioner Roger Goodell will be in even more hot water if the reports about the NFL receiving the video before TMZ prove to be true.
