Notching nine sacks made it impossible for voters to ignore his rookie season and deny him the Defensive Rookie of the Year award.
The Rams defensive line began to play to its potential in the second half of the season as Donald became more experienced, shutting out two consecutive opponents at one point.
This award came with an extremely close vote though as Donald received 25 first-place votes while Baltimore Ravens linebacker C.J. Mosley got 18.
