St George under-20’s player Blaine Rozs has been killed after becoming trapped underneath a machine in a workplace accident on Monday.
Police were called into Turfco in Nowra this morning where they found the 19-year-old trapped under the equipment.
He reportedly died at the scene.
‘The Dragons would like to extend their thoughts and condolences to the family and friends of former National Youth Competition player Blaine Rozs, who passed away in a workplace incident on Monday,’ the NRL club said in a statement.
“The Dragons will be providing assistance to members of both the 2014 and 2015 NYC squads in conjunction with the NRL during this difficult time.”
Rozs joined the Dragons’ NYC squad at the end of the 2013 season.
‘The Dragons are deeply saddened to be informed of the passing of Blaine and our deepest sympathies go out to both his family and friends,’ said Dragons u-20 head coach Ben Hornby.
“He was a promising young prop who had a passion for rugby league and was a highly regarded and respected player and teammate. Blaine will be sadly missed.”
