Former England Under-21 boss set for Black Cats job…
Former England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce has emerged as a shock frontrunner for the vacant Sunderland manager’s job.
The Black Cats sacked Paulo Di Canio after only five games in charge, with the side languishing rock bottom of the Premier League table.
Roberto Di Matteo and Gus Poyet have been heavily touted for the job, but thanks to a large number of bets on Friday night, Pearce has been brought in from 2/1 from 50/1 by leading bookmaker Paddy Power.
