Not too long ago, Texas A&M was widely considered a legitimate national title contender with Kenny Hill as their starting quarterback.
His performance against South Carolina where he threw for 511 yards and three touchdowns caused fans to label him a Heisman Trophy candidate and compare him favorably to Johnny Manziel.
However, Hill and the entire Aggies team have fallen back down to Earth as they now hold a 5-3 record after losing three straight games. Texas A&M made a shocking decision to bench Hill and go with Kyle Allen as their starter.
Allen was the No. 1 ranked quarterback in the 2014 recruiting class, so the talent is obviously there, and Kevin Sumlin has proven to be a quarterback-friendly coach.
Here is a tweet from the ESPN CollegeFootball account releasing this surprising decision.
