There’s an opportunity for another Premier League team to be knocked out by Championship opposition as Brighton and Hove Albion host Hull City.
Holders Wigan Athletic eliminated top tier Cardiff City with a 1-2 triumph in the Welsh capital and high-flying Brighton could repeat that feat at the Amex Stadium.
The hosts have also received a boost with the news that midfielder Keith Andrews is in contention for a place after recovering from a hamstring injury.
As for the Tigers, they have some good news of their own as Sone Aluko is available after four months on the sidelines, whilst goalkeeper Allen McGregor is also ready to player after serving a three-match ban.
Aluko’s return is very timely as the 24-year-old can play upfront with new signings Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long both cup-tied.
The only other absentee for the visitors will be Paul McShane, who is ruled out for six months with an ankle injury.
Hull manager Steve Bruce has only ever reached the FA Cup quarter-finals once in a 15-year managerial career, when the Englishman took Birmingham City to the sixth round in 2007 – only to lose 7-0 to Liverpool.
To reach that stage again Bruce will have to overcome a Brighton team in great form, with former Barcelona coach Oscar Garcia having guided them to seventh in the Championship on the back of some superb home results.
