Liverpool continued their 100% start to the 2015-16 preseason campaign on Friday as they came from a goal down to beat A-League side Brisbane Roar 2-1 Down Under.
Tuesday’s 4-0 victory over a Thailand Allstar XI was a stroll in the park for Brendan Rodgers and his men, but Brisbane provided a much sterner test and shocked the Reds by breaking the deadlock on 17 minutes when Dimitri Petratos capitalised on some hesitant defending before beating Simon Mignolet with a very good finish.
Liverpool responded to that setback admirably and deservedly levelled the scores 11 minutes later, thanks to a fine strike by Adam Lallana, who was assisted by James Milner’s long-range pass.

Milner, who was often used out wide for former club Manchester City, thrived in his central role for Liverpool.
The 29-year-old’s position allowed him to net the winning goal – his first for the Reds – 16 minutes from full time.
Jordan Henderson stole possession on the left wing, before finding Milner in the middle. The England workhorse then displayed guile – to execute a bold nutmeg – and fine finishing – to beat the goalkeeper despite losing his balance.
Overall, Liverpool’s style of play was much more direct than it was last season.
The Reds loaded the penalty area and piled multiple crosses into the box, but with little success, as Divock Origi struggled to dominate in the air.
