The British Open begins today, with pundits across the board struggling to predict the winner of the third Major tournament of the year.
As with most golf events he enters, Tiger Woods is favourite, but the world number one hasn’t won a Major championship since the 2008 US Open victory, and does not have good memories of the Muirfield course.
The last time Muirfield hosted the Open Championship, Tiger Woods was defeated by the weather.
The American shot 81 in torrid rain and biting winds, and has never played a worse round in his professional career.
Recent major winners Adam Scott, Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy will have high hopes of claiming victory at the Scottish course, but Graeme McDowell, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood will hope to also contend for the trophy.
