Atlanta Hawks power forward Josh Smith is reportedly a target for the Brooklyn Nets, with the Nets also rumoured to be interested in Charlotte Bobcats guard Ben Gordon.

Recent reports suggest the two teams are engaged in discussions over a trade for Smith, but a deal is yet to be agreed with the NBA trade deadline on February 21 drawing closer.
The Nets are looking to make big additions as they look to consolidate their place in the play-off positions in the Eastern Conference.
They currently sit in fifth spot with a 29-22 record, but with the addition of Smith and potentially Gordon, Brooklyn would certainly eye making a push in the post-season.
Smith is rumoured to be of higher priority with the Nets wiling to give up Kris Humphries and shooting guard MarShon Brooks in any deal involving Atlanta.
Despite struggling with his offense this season, shooting just 45.1% from the field, Smith remains a talent on the defensive end at 6’9″.
Placing him in the same team as Brook Lopez, and the Nets could put together a formidable line-up.
However, with Atlanta open to discussing a deal for Smith, the Nets are likely face competition over the next ten days.
