D-Will has been suffering with ankle injuries throughout the season.
Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams will not travel with his team-mates ahead of their trip to London for the game against the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday night.
The team are set to practice in the English capital on Tuesday and Wednesday ahead of the encounter, but Williams will miss his 16th game of the season with a sprained left ankle.
The Nets have announced no timetable for his return, and the injury news comes despite the 29-year-old having a cortisone shot and platelet-rich plasma injection in both of his ankles following an MRI scan on Monday.
Alan Anderson has been deputising in his absence alongside Shaun Livingston in the backcourt, while the Nets are 15-22 for the season but have won five of their last six games.
Nevertheless, it is a bitter blow for both the NBA and its supporters in London, who will be disappointed that Williams joins team-mate Brook Lopez and Hawks star Al Horford on the injury list.
It is understood that the game is a sell-out at the O2, but with a trio of top names missing it remains to be seen what impact the game can have without them.
Both teams are firmly in the hunt for playoff basketball in the Eastern Conference, with Atlanta (20-17) currently occupying third spot and looking to lead the best of the rest behind the Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat, while Brooklyn are down in eighth but have made strides since the turn of the year.
