Bon Jovi, who has been part of a Toronto bidding group for the purchase of the Buffalo Bills, has come under fire by fans who are afraid the rocker’s group may move the team to Canada if they win.
In an open letter to The Buffalo News on Sunday, rock n’ roll legend Jon Bon Jovi stated that his bidding group wants the Buffalo Bills to succeed in Buffalo.
Bon Jovi is part of a Toronto group that has been rumored to be making a bid for the purchase of the Buffalo Bills franchise, which has been on the market since owner and founder Ralph Wilson Jr. passed away in March.
According to the Associated Press, the rocker’s letter stated that his group is committed to working with state and local officials to identify a new stadium site in the region and that it’s his intention to ”carry on Ralph Wilson’s legacy” in Buffalo.
Many Bills fans, most notably recent Hall of Fame inductee and former Bill Andre Reed, have been highly critical of Bon Jovi’s group’s attempt to buy the team over fears that the group would eventually move the team to Toronto.
