Belgium international looks set for Germany switch.
Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl claims that he has agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Thorgan Hazard on a season-long loan.
Thorgan became a Chelsea player when he left Lens in 2012, the same year that older brother Eden joined the Blues from Lille.
However, the 21-year-old has yet to play for the Stamford Bridge club, having spent the past two seasons on loan at Zulte Waregem.
He impressed at Zulte, winning Player of the Year in Belgium, as well as earning his first senior international cap in a 4-2 win over the USA.
Thorgan was placed on Belgium’s standby list for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
Despite interest from Premier League clubs, as well as Schalke and Wolfsburg, Thorgan appears to be set for a year at Monchengladbach
Eberl told the Rheinischen Post: “We were always going to make an attacking signing, no matter what the situation is with Luuk de Jong and Peniel Mlapa, and this will be Thorgan Hazard.
“We have exchanged contracts with Chelsea and we have agreed with Thorgan, we have all agreed and now just need to sign the contracts.”
Thorgan has two years left to run on his current Chelsea deal.
