Bowling Green is coming off a 51-17 blowout loss to Northern Illinois, and they fell to 7-6. Their defense will look to bounce back in the Camellia Bowl against South Alabama, who will play in their first bowl game in school history.
The Falcons have lost three games in a row while allowing at least 41 points in each of their last two losses. Quarterback James Knapke has struggled as of late with just one touchdown pass against two interceptions in his last three games.
South Alabama has also been cold as of late with two consecutive losses, most recently in a 42-40 shootout against Navy. They have lost four of their last five after a strong start.
Quarterback Brandon Bridge threw four touchdown passes with two interceptions in the loss, and running back Terrance Timmons rushed for 124 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.
The Jaguars will not face much of a defensive challenge as Bowling Green has allowed 33.9 points per game, ranking 109th in the country. They allowed 68 points to Wisconsin while allowing over 40 to teams like Massachusetts and Indiana.
South Alabama has no defense to brag about, but Bowling Green being prone to turnovers and allowing the big play will sink them.
Prediction: South Alabama 34, Bowling Green 24
