The Canberra Raiders have ended negotiations with the Sydney Roosters over prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, according to reports.
According to The Canberra Times, the Raiders took a lucrative deal off the table after the 25-year-old failed to confirm his interest in joining the club.
Waerea-Hargreaves is under contract with the Roosters until the end of next season, but is expected to hit the open market and view his options for the 2016 NRL season.
After missing the finals for the past two years, the Raiders have stepped up with an aggressive recruiting campaign this off-season.
Former star Roosters prop Frank-Paul Nu’uausala has joined on a three year deal, while Melbourne Storm winger Sisi Waqa has joined him in the nations capital.
Wests Tigers utility Blake Austin and England international Josh Hodgson have also joined the Raiders.
Canberra have also freed up salary cap room after releasing Terry Campese to English Super League side Hull KR.
