Bluebirds have already begun their planning for next season.
Championship title winners Cardiff City want to make former Liverpool front man Dirk Kuyt their first signing having won promotion to the Premier League for the first time in the Welsh club’s history, says the Metro.
The South Wales outfit are said to be already on the look-out for new and experienced faces to add to their squad in order to give them a chance of remaining in the top flight next season.
And head coach Malky Mackay is understood to have earmarked the versatile Kuyt, who left Anfield last summer to join Turkish Super Liga giants Fenerbache for just £1 million, to be his first arrival at the Cardiff City stadium when the transfer window reopens on June 1.
The 32-year-old forward has a contract in the Turkish capital that runs until May 30 2015, but it is believed that Fenerbache would be willing to listen to offers for the Netherlands international, who has scored a solid 15 goals in 53 matches for club and country in all competitions this campaign.
