Cardiff City have a difficult start to the 2013-14 Premier League season, opening with fixtures against West Ham, Man City and Everton.
Cardiff City open the 2013-14 Premier League season with fixtures against West Ham United, Manchester City and Everton – three established sides in the top flight.
Late November and early December will be a test with fixtures against Manchester United, Arsenal, a visit to Stoke City and a battle with fellow promoted side Crystal Palace, while January holds back to back fixtures against Man Utd and Man City.
It will be a test for the Bluebirds, who of course play in red, and the promoted outfit will have to get used to the change in mentality required when going up a division.
Having won the majority of their fixtures last season due to winning the nPower Championship, Cardiff City will need to become accustomed to that no longer being a likely scenario, for there will be few games that they are considered favourites for.
However, the south Wales club have a number of stars in their squad who can showcase real ability on the Premier League scene, and with ambitious owners, manager and players, Cardiff will be keen to do better than merely battling against the drop.
