Both Manchester United and Arsenal are also reported to be interested in the Colombian international, however his agent Sergio Barila said he and the 29-year-old had drawn up a list of dream destinations this summer, of which Liverpool was one.
“We are really looking at three things – number one is to have a happy family situation for his wife and son because he had a bad experience in Belgium,” Barila told The Guardian.
“The second is to find a good team with a good project. Before he went to Chile, we wrote down a list of clubs that fit that description and Liverpool was on that list.
“The third question is the contract. He has a good salary in Sevilla but we know how much clubs in England can pay.”
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is looking to bolster his attacking options despite already signing Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino this summer.
According to Daily Express, Bacca has a £25m release clause in his contract with the La Liga heavyweights and it remains to be seen if the Reds are willing to match the fee for a 29-year-old.
Bacca has scored 34 league goals in 71 appearances since joining Sevilla in 2013.
