Old rivals Carlton and Essendon played out a thrilling draw last time they faced each other, but it seems the gap between them is now much wider.
The Blues go into the clash at the MCG having lost both its opening games against Richmond and West Coast, and it seems the long-suffering Carlton faithful are in for another rough season in the stands.
After fading late against the Sydney Swans in round one, Essendon were superb in its win over reigning premiers Hawthorn last week and will be licking its lips against a struggling Carlton outfit.
Jobe Watson has lead the Bombers superbly and will no doubt be a big influence on proceedings on Saturday.
Form usually goes out the window in these sorts of clashes, but you just can’t help but think the Blues won’t have enough in all facets of the game to match the Bombers.
