Carlton hard-nut Mitch Robinson accepts his third suspension of the 2014 season.
Carlton’s Mitch Robinson has been suspended for the third time this season, with the AFL match review panel banning him for two matches after an incident during the Blues’ win over North Melbourne on Saturday.
Robinson has accepted a two-match suspension for a level two rough conduct charge for an incident involving Kangaroo Leigh Adams during the first quarter of Carlton’s 33-point win at Etihad Stadium.
The match marked the 25-year-old’s 100th AFL match, but it was also his first game back from a previous two-match ban.
Due to his poor record, Robinson was unable to reduce the ban even with an early guilty plea.
In other AFL MRP news, Leigh Adams accepted a reprimand after striking Carlton’s Simon White, whilst Port Adelaide forward Jay Schulz has been cleared of a report for striking Melbourne’s Lynden Dunn after the panel decided he has used insufficient force to warrant a report.
Schulz’s Power team-mate Paul Stewart was also a cleared of a hit on Nathan Jones after it was deemed the incident was out of Stewart’s control.
Melbourne’s Bernie Vince was cleared after the panel ruled that his contact on Kane Cornes was below that required of a report.
