Hardy is set to become a free agent in March as the Panthers did not set up a contract extension for him due to his off-field problems.
The Panthers defense was also able to regain its 2013 form late in the season on its way to winning the NFC South.
Reports are coming out that the Panthers will let Hardy walk in free agency, and he will likely still command a lot of money due to getting 15 sacks in 2013.
However, his value will be reduced due to his character concerns.
