Cole played with both formidable strikers during spells at Chelsea and Liverpool.
West Ham striker Andy Carroll can be just as good as Didier Drogba, according to team-match Joe Cole.
Carroll begins life afresh with the Hammers after a productive loan spell prompted manager Sam Allardyce to splash out a club record £15 million to bring him to Upton Park permanently and bring an end to his Liverpool hell.
Like the 24-year-old England international, Cole’s time at Anfield developed into a nightmare until he was offered the chance to re-joinhis boyhood club in January.
Prior to that the 31-year-old was a key figure at Chelsea alongside Drogba and he believes Carroll shares plenty of traits with the Ivory Coast powerhouse.
“I played with him at Liverpool and West Ham and the player that is at West Ham is full of confidence, energy and aggression, and everyone can see what a good player he is,’ The Daily Mail quote him as saying in The Sun
“He had a difficult time at Liverpool but the West Ham Andy Carroll is a real handful and a top player. he’ll be looking at getting himself in the England squad now.
“He can be anything he wants to be. You can look at a Drogba, that’s the level he can get to.”
