Uruguay were eliminated from the Copa America on Wednesday night after suffering a 1-0 quarter-final defeat to Chile – a game that was spoiled by Edison Cavani being sent off in the 62nd minute.
Uruguay forward Cavani, who has been linked with interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United this summer as his PSG future looks in doubt, was dismissed for allegedly lashing out at Chile’s Gonzalo Jara, who then fell to the ground in an exaggerated fashion.
The red card was harsh and Cavani was seething, which was fair enough, because he did NOT lash out at shameless cheat Jara.
Jara’s playacting was pretty bad, but what he did seconds earlier was even worse!
The replay below shows that Jara tried to provoke Cavini by sticking his finger up his bum.
Chile went on to steal a late victory, thanks to an 82nd-minute strike from Mauricio Isla.
