Wanyama Arsenal: Southampton star reveals Wenger transfer talks
The Gunners look in need of improvements in that position after Wojciech Szczesny’s dip in form this season has led to him being replaced in goal by David Ospina, though neither look entirely convincing as a long-term option for the club’s number one.
Cech, meanwhile, has also fallen out of favour with his current club, though the Chelsea star remains one of the most highly regarded in the world in his position, with only the excellent Thibaut Courtois limiting his playing time at Stamford Bridge this season.
According to the Daily Express, Parlour feels Cech would be a great signing for Arsenal if they could get him, suggesting there may be work being done behind the scenes to secure this deal.
However, the player-turned-pundit is unsure if Chelsea would sell to rivals Arsenal, saying: “He would be a great signing for Arsenal if Chelsea will let him go there.
“If he [Wenger] can add a bit of quality, I think they will have a really good run next year, progress, and maybe get a bit closer to Chelsea, or whoever it is next season, to win the Premier League.”
