Celtic saw their Europa League hopes ended on Thursday night as Ajax secured a 2-1 win at Celtic Park to eliminate them from the competition.

The night had started well for the hosts as Callum McGregor opened the scoring after just three minutes to give them the advantage.
However, Ajax had other plans as they battled back through goals from Arkadiusz Milik and Vaclav Cerny to secure all three points which ensures that Celtic will finish bottom of the standings after failing to win any of their first five games of the group stages.
Coupled with Fenerbahce’s win over Molde, it spelt the end for Deila’s side after another disappointing European campaign as they will now focus their attention on domestic matters.
In contrast, Ajax still have a chance of qualifying heading into match-day six, as they trail Fenerbahce by three points ahead of hosting Molde on December 10 and so will potentially need a favour from Deila and his squad next month.
