The Notre Dame Fighting Irish staved off an upset bid by the Navy Midshipmen to defeat them, 49-39, and improve to 7-1.

Florida State Notre Dame preview
No. 10 Notre Dame recovered from a rough loss to No. 2 Florida State by beating Navy, 49-39, on the road. The Midshipmen gave them a good fight though. They led them, 31-28, at the end of the third quarter.
Navy then cut a 42-31 lead to 42-39, but Notre Dame sealed their win with a touchdown run by quarterback Everett Golson. Golson had his best game of the season as he scored six total touchdowns.
The Irish quarterback threw for 315 yards and three touchdowns with one interception on 18-of-25 passing, and he added another 33 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.
Running back Tarean Folston also steamrolled the Navy defense with 149 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
Meanwhile, Midshipmen quarterback Keenan Reynolds was relatively quiet as he threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns with an interception. He was held to 47 rushing yards on 18 carries.
Running back Noah Copeland ran for a team-leading 138 yards on 16 carries, and the team was able to muster three rushing touchdowns.
