In one of the incredibly rare top 5 matchups of the season, the #3 Auburn Tigers go on the road to play the #4 Ole Miss Rebels in Week 10 of college football.
Only a few weeks removed from a road loss to Mississippi State, the Tigers head back on the road after narrowly beating South Carolina to play Ole Miss and their incredible defense. It will truly be a battle of the unstoppable force versus the immovable objects as Auburn has 5 games this season scoring over 40 points while Ole Miss is averaging only 10.5 points allowed, and has not had a single game where they allowed more than 20.
Auburn still has QB Nick Marshall playing cautiously through the air and has the rest of the team going lights out on the ground with its four top rushers averaging over 5.0 yards per carry. The defense isn’t a pushover either with only the last two games breaking the 30-point mark this season.
Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace has been the leader on offense, throwing for over 2,000 yards and 18 TDs while adding 2 TDs on the ground. The ball has been distributed rather evenly as three players on the team have between 4 and 5 TDs. But it is the defense that is the real story and is the tough nut that even their lone loss to LSU was not necessarily cracked until late in the game. To date the Rebels have held opponents to under 14 points five times, and held them to just a FG three times.
Prediction: Auburn –
