No. 15 Nebraska holds a 7-1 record, and they will look to make a push for the top 10 with a victory over Purdue, which should not be too difficult to achieve at home.
The Cornhuskers’ most recent win came against Rutgers as they defeated them, 42-24. Running back Ameer Abdullah’s Heisman Trophy campaign picked up steam as he gained 341 all-purpose yards.
This included 225 rushing yards to go with three touchdowns. Quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. threw for 163 yards and two touchdowns and one interception.
The Boilermakers are coming off a bye week after a narrow 39-38 loss to Minnesota. They currently hold a 3-5 record, and they are looking to pull an upset against a powerful Nebraska team.
Quarterback Austin Appleby threw three touchdown passes for Purdue against Minnesota, but he threw two interceptions that were costly.
Appleby is also capable of being a dual threat, as he demonstrated by rushing for 79 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries against Minnesota.
The Cornhuskers have too much offensive talent for the Boilermakers to overcome though, so this game may be a blowout.
Prediction: Nebraska 35, Purdue 17
