No. 14 Ohio State proved that they are a contender to win the Big Ten title as they pulled off a somewhat shocking road victory over No. 8 Michigan State.
The Buckeyes defeated the Spartans, 49-37. The Spartans held a 14-7 lead early in the game, but the Buckeyes took a 28-21 lead later on and never looked back. They held off the Spartans throughout the entire second half.
Ohio State quarterback J.T. Barrett put himself in the Heisman discussion with another fantastic performance as he threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns on 16-of-26 passing.
Barrett also continued to get involved in the running game with 86 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Running back Ezekiel Elliott led the Buckeyes in rushing once again as he ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns.
Wide receiver Devin Smith caught six passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.
For the Spartans, quarterback Connor Cook threw for 358 yards and two touchdowns on 25-of-45 passing. Running back Jeremy Langford ran for 137 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries.
