The #5 Alabama Crimson Tide head to the Bayou for a key SEC matchup with longtime their rival #16 LSU Tigers in Week 11 of college football.
Number five is perhaps the worst number in college football this year as it means the team is only one spot away from a berth in the College Football playoffs. And yet that is where the Alabama Crimson Tide find themselves now after losing to Ole Miss four weeks ago. But since that loss Alabama has won three straight including a 59-0 drubbing of the Texas A&M Aggies. And with the help of star WR Amari Cooper, the Crimson Tide are having their way with lesser defenses.
LSU, after spending a while on the outskirts of the top 25 ranking, are back in the race after beating Ole Miss two weeks ago and are back in the home stadium where they pulled off their biggest upset of the season. The Tigers have a long history with Alabama, as the two teams played each other twice back in 2012 as LSU beat Alabama before losing in the national championship game. There is a lot of bad blood between these teams and that will make for an epic SEC showdown.
Prediction: Alabama – As good as the LSU defense is, Amari Cooper is arguably the best WR in the country and Crimson Tide QB Blake Sims is one of the most efficient 3rd down QBs in the nation. Whatever offensive difficulties the Tigers were able to cause for the Ole Miss Rebels two weeks ago will not be seen again against this Alabama team.
