The Arizona State Sun Devils proved that they deserve to be in the top 10 after they pulled off a 55-31 victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.

Arizona State Notre Dame preview
No. 9 Arizona State improved to 8-1 with a 55-31 win over No. 10 Notre Dame, but their win didn’t come easy. After the Sun Devils held a 34-10 lead at halftime, they scored 21 more unanswered points to pull within three points in the fourth quarter.
However, Arizona State was able to pull away with 21 unanswered points in the final five minutes of the game.
Sun Devils quarterback Taylor Kelly threw for 224 yards and three touchdowns with one interception on 17-of-28 passing. Running back D.J. Foster was the featured back for Arizona State once again as he ran for 120 yards on 21 carries.
Running back Demario Richard added another 50 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries, and wide receiver Jaelen Strong caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Smith led the Sun Devils in receiving with four catches for 67 yards and a touchdown.
For the Fighting Irish, quarterback Everett Golson struggled as he threw for 446 yards and two touchdowns with four interceptions. Running back Tarean Folston was held to 30 yards on 11 carries.
Wide receiver William Fuller had a solid game though as he caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown, marking his 10th touchdown reception of the season.
