No. 8 Michigan State is slowly climbing their way back into playoff contention after an early season loss to No. 4 Oregon, and they are currently in the lead for a Big Ten championship.
The Spartans improved to 7-1 with a 35-11 victory over Michigan. Running back Jeremy Langford led the way with 177 yards and three touchdowns on 35 carries.
Quarterback Connor Cook performed efficiently as he threw for 227 yards and a touchdown on 12-of-22 passing.
The Spartans have a crucial matchup with No. 13 Ohio State ahead of them. This game will likely decide who reaches the Big Ten championship game from the East.
The Buckeyes won their sixth consecutive game with a 55-14 blowout win over Illinois, and quarterback J.T. Barrett was solid as he threw for 167 yards and two touchdowns.
The offense was well-balanced as the Buckeyes rushed for a total of 296 yards, but they will face a much bigger defensive test from the Spartans.
Michigan State has been fantastic on defense aside from allowing 46 points to Oregon, and they have averaged 45.5 points per game on offense.
