Wisconsin Nebraska preview
No. 20 Wisconsin rode a historic performance from running back Melvin Gordon to a 59-24 blowout victory over No. 16 Nebraska. The Badgers improved their record to 8-2 and put themselves in even more serious contention for a Big Ten title.
Gordon rushed for 408 yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries, and this broke the single-game rushing record held by LaDainian Tomlinson, who ran for 406 yards in a 1999 game for TCU.
As a result, quarterback Joel Stave was virtually invisible as he threw for just 46 yards and a touchdown pass on 7-of-11 passing.
For the Cornhuskers, quarterback Tommy Armstrong Jr. was held to 62 yards and a touchdown pass with an interception on 6-of-18 passing.
Running back Ameer Abdullah did not look like himself as he rushed for only 69 yards on 18 carries, but this may be because he was just coming off a knee injury.
He also led the Cornhuskers in receiving with 26 yards on just one catch.
