The Florida State Seminoles defeated the Miami Hurricanes 30-26 in Week 12 of College Football thanks to several Miami miscues and a great comeback effort by QB Jameis Winston.
As predicted yesterday before the game, the Hurricanes scored 16 unanswered points before the Seminoles got on the board with a TD run by RB Dalvin Cook. Miami responded with another TD from QB Brad Kaaya to make the game 23-7 before the Seminoles cut the lead again with a FG. At halftime the score was 23-10.
In the second half, Winston threw his first and only TD of the day to RB Karlos Williams to cut the lead to 23-17. After an early 4th quarter FG from kicker Roberto Aguayo to cut the lead to 23-20, Miami responded with a FG of their own to make the game 26-20. Another Aguayo FG made the game 26-23, but then the Seminoles came back with a long TD drive that they finished with a 26-yard run from Dalvin Cook again to give the Seminoles their first lead of the day. The ensuing Miami drive failed and the Seminoles came away with the win.
With the win the Seminoles move to 10-0 on the season and continue their winning streak with number 26 – the longest in school history. FSU’s next game will be against Boston College at home before the regular season finale against the Florida Gators, also at home.
