The Missouri Tigers defeated the #24 Texas A&M Aggies for a key SEC win in Week 12 of college football.
After falling behind 13-3 to end the first half, the Tigers came back with 28 points in the 3rd quarter, with 21 unanswered points that included two TDs of over 40 yards from RB Russell Hansbrough. With 1:29 remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Tigers extended their lead to 34-20 and Aggies QB Kyle Allen was only able to lead one TD drive in the 4th quarter, making the final score 34-27.
The Texas A&M freshman QB Allen threw 3 TDs during the game but threw an INT as well. Missouri QB Maty Mauk played an efficient game with a TD and an INT as well as 252 passing yards.
The Tigers are now riding a 4-game winning streak and have control of their own destiny in the SEC East title race. If they beat their final two opponents – the a road game against the Tennessee Volunteers and their home finale against the Arkansas Razorbacks – they will clinch the SEC East title and be in the SEC Championship game.
The Aggies fall to 7-4 on the season and suffered their first loss to an unranked team this season. The Aggies have the week off next week but will finish the season at home against the LSU Tigers.
