Ohio State Michigan State preview
No. 25 Minnesota is in the rankings for the first time this season after improving to 7-2 with a 51-14 blowout win over Iowa, who also held a 6-2 record at the time.
Gophers quarterback Mitch Leidner had his finest performance of the season as he threw for 138 yards and four touchdown passes on 10-of-13 passing, and he added 77 rushing yards on 11 carries to lead the Gophers.
Tight end Maxx Williams shined as he caught five passes for 46 yards and three touchdowns.
The Gophers will face a major test and be forced to fight hard to stay in the rankings as they take on No. 8 Ohio State.
The Buckeyes achieved a minor upset win on the road against Michigan State, and they now find themselves in the national title hunt with an 8-1 record. They are also on track to play in the Big Ten title game.
Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett threw for 300 yards and three touchdowns on 16-of-26 passing while rushing for 86 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.
Running back Ezekiel Elliott ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries, and wide receiver Devin Smith caught six passes for 129 yards and a touchdown.
The Buckeyes may find themselves facing an upset bid since they have to play another road game, but the Gophers do not have enough firepower to keep up with the Buckeyes.
Prediction: Ohio State 30, Minnesota 24
