No. 13 Arizona State recovered from an upset loss to Oregon State as they defeated Washington State, 52-31. The Sun Devils appeared to be on the verge of another loss in the second quarter as they trailed, 21-7. They escaped with a win though, and they improved to 9-2 while staying in the Pac-12 South title race.
After trailing 24-21 at halftime, the Sun Devils scored 31 unanswered points to put the Cougars away. Quarterback Taylor Kelly threw for 232 yards and four touchdown passes on 15-of-25 passing.
Running back D.J. Foster ran for 96 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries, and he continued to be a dangerous receiving weapon with five catches for 59 yards. Wide receiver Cameron Smith caught six passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
For the Cougars, quarterback Luke Falk threw for 601 yards and three touchdowns with four interceptions.
Wide receiver Vince Mayle led the Cougars in receiving with 15 catches for 252 yards, and Isiah Myers added seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown.
