Wisconsin Nebraska preview
No. 16 Wisconsin is coming off a 59-24 blowout win over No. 23 Nebraska, and running back Melvin Gordon made history by rushing for 408 yards and four touchdowns.
This marked the record for rushing yards in a single game, previously held by TCU running back LaDainian Tomlinson. The Badgers improved to 8-2, and they will look to continue their winning streak against Iowa.
They will need better quarterback play, but Joel Stave didn’t need to do much against Nebraska due to Gordon’s monstrous performance.
Stave made the most of his throws as he threw for 46 yards on 7-of-11 passing while throwing a touchdown pass, and he looked impressive in the previous game against Purdue.
Meanwhile, the Hawkeyes put a blowout loss against Minnesota behind them as they defeated Illinois, 30-14. Quarterback Jake Rudock was efficient as he threw two touchdown passes. Running back Mark Weisman ran for 134 yards.
The Hawkeyes improved their record to 7-3, but they failed their first big test against Minnesota, so it’s hard to believe they can compete with Wisconsin and Nebraska, who are their final two opponents of the season.
Gordon may have another 200-yard rushing game in him.
Prediction: Wisconsin 38, Iowa 17
