The #3 TCU Horned Frogs dominated the Iowa State Cyclones for a 55-3 victory, clinching a share of the Big XII conference title in the process.
TCU QB Trevone Boykin had a field day passing, rushing, even receiving on a 55-yard TD pass from WR David Porter. The TCU QB threw for a career high 460 passing yards and also added 4 TDs plus his incredible catch en route to a 55-3 victory that was basically over before the third quarter ended.
The Horned Frogs began the game with a pair of first-quarter TDs, first the catch by Boykin and later a TD run by Aaron Green. In the second quarters the Cyclones managed to get on the board with a FG from PK Cole Netten, but that would prove to be the only points of the game for the team with the worst record in the Big XII conference. TCU added on a FG to make the game 17-3, but that would be the last time in the game where it would be close.
In the third quarter the Horned Frogs scored 31 points thanks to three Boykin TD passes, a FG and an INT returned for a TD from TCU PK Jaden Oberkrom. By the time the quarter was over, the Horned Frogs were up 48-3. In the fourth quarter Boykin added his fourth and final TD of the game before taking an early exit, and put the ball in the hands of backup QB Bram Kohlhausen, who threw the ball only three times. Both teams milked the clock (though TCU RB Aaron Green was far more effective at it) and the game wound down.
With the win TCU claimed a share of the Big XII conference title for the first time since joining the conference in 2012. Barring a dominating performance by the Baylor Bears, they will very likely clinch a spot in the College Football Playoffs as well.
