No. 11 Michigan State is coming fresh off a bye week, and they are looking to bounce back after a road loss to No. 2 Oregon. They still lead all Big Ten teams in the rankings, and they are entering their final game against Eastern Michigan before conference play begins for them.
The Eagles are coming off their second consecutive loss as they fell last week to Old Dominion, 17-3. Their record now stands at 1-2.
Their quarterback play is extremely questionable since running back Bronson Hill rushed for 78 yards, which was more than the Eagles’ two quarterbacks were able to complete combined.
Spartans quarterback Connor Cook had himself a mostly solid performance against Oregon. Despite throwing two interceptions, he threw for 343 yards and two touchdowns on 29-of-47 passing.
Running back Jeremy Langford also looked adequate with 86 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. Wide receiver Tony Lippett continued to be Cook’s top weapon as he caught 11 passes for 133 yards and a touchdown.
The Spartans offense should have no problem clicking against a Mid-American conference team, and the defense will be prepared for anything after facing an offensive powerhouse in Oregon.
Prediction: Michigan State 48, Eastern Michigan 14
