In what was supposed to be a Pac-12 shootout, that may not be the case between No. 11 UCLA and No. 15 Arizona State. Sun Devils quarterback Taylor Kelly will sit out because of a foot injury.
Mike Bercovici will start at quarterback for the Sun Devils, and he has seen limited action this season. The most fans have seen of him is in the season opener against Weber State, where he threw for 65 yards and a touchdown pass on 6-of-12 passing.
Luckily for the Sun Devils, running back D.J. Foster will still be around to pick up the slack on offense. He has rushed for 510 yards and five touchdowns in three games.
For the Bruins, quarterback Brett Hundley has battled a left elbow injury that kept him out of UCLA’s game against Texas, which they won 20-17.
The Bruins have not said whether Hundley will play, but Arizona State is expecting to face him. The Bruins have Paul Perkins leading their rushing attack.
Their defense, which has allowed 24 points per game, will catch a break with Kelly being out. However, Foster will be difficult for them to stop.
Even though this game lacks both premier Pac-12 quarterbacks, there is sure to be plenty of scoring.
Prediction: UCLA 27, Arizona State 21
