USC Fresno State preview
No. 18 USC is coming off a shocking upset to Boston College, and they had a bye week to recover. They will look to bounce back against Oregon State at home.
The Trojans allowed 452 rushing yards and five touchdowns against the Boston College running game, and their own running game sputtered as it finished with 20 yards on 29 carries. Javorius Allen was held to 31 yards on 15 carries.
Quarterback Cody Kessler looked solid though as he completed 31-of-41 of his passes for 317 yards and four touchdowns, and he still has yet to throw an interception this season.
For Oregon State, quarterback Sean Mannion is looking to bounce back from a forgettable performance against San Diego State despite the Beavers winning, 28-7.
The Beavers have started their season 3-0, but the Trojans will be their first major test of the season. Mannion has only thrown four touchdown passes in three games after throwing 37 last season.
The Oregon State running game performed well against San Diego State with four touchdowns despite only having 97 yards. Their running game should be less challenging for the Trojans than Boston College’s though.
USC will have vengeance on their minds, and they will take it out on Oregon State to put themselves back in the playoff hunt.
Prediction: USC 31, Oregon State 14
