BYU Virginia preview
No. 18 BYU remains undefeated with a 4-0 record, and they will face Utah State in their next game on Friday. The Cougars just rested up during the bye week after beating Virginia, 41-33.
Quarterback Taysom Hill is putting together a Heisman-caliber season so far with 13 total touchdowns, and he has shown greatly improved accuracy by completing 66.1 percent of his passes.
Hill rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown against Virginia while throwing for 187 yards and two touchdown passes, and he will look to continue his momentum against Utah State.
The Aggies will have to continue their season without dual-threat quarterback Chuckie Keeton, who is nursing a knee injury.
Darell Garretson will continue to fill in as the starting quarterback, and he had a solid game for the Aggies despite them losing to Arkansas State.
Garretson threw for 271 yards and two touchdown passes with one interception. The Aggies held a 14-7 lead until there was just under five minutes left in the fourth quarter, and they had a field goal blocked as regulation expired. They eventually lost in overtime to fall to 2-2.
The Cougars should be able to contain the Aggies with Keeton out, and Hill should have no trouble putting together another impressive performance against a 70th-ranked defense.
Prediction: BYU 27, Utah State 17
