The #6 Texas A&M Aggies head to Mississippi for an SEC showdown with the #12 Mississippi State Bulldogs in a game with serious conference implications.
The Aggies are one of the offensive juggernauts of college football, averaging over 51 points per game and just under 600 yards of offense per game. QB Kenny Hill is one of the top candidates for the Heisman trophy and proved last week against Arkansas that he can lead a team to a comeback win in a tight spot.
The Bulldogs have been one of the unique surprises of college football this season, scoring an upset win over the LSU Tigers several weeks ago to move into the top 15 for the first time in several years. Now the Bulldogs have a chance to put the entire SEC – and thus all of college football – on notice if they can pick up the win against one of the best offenses in football. And this Bulldogs defense which has given up less than 20 points per game while scoring over 40.
Prediction: Texas A&M – This offense is just too explosive for the Bulldogs to have a realistic chance. It is doubtful that Mississippi State’s win over LSU was a fluke, and they likely have at least one more huge upset over an SEC powerhouse left in them before the season is done, but this won’t be the one – even if it is at home.
