Notre Dame Michigan preview
No. 9 Notre Dame is coming off a 31-15 victory over Syracuse, and they remain undefeated with a 4-0 record. The Fighting Irish played solid defense on Syracuse, allowing 15 points.
The Fighting Irish are fourth in the country in scoring defense with 11.5 points allowed per game. Quarterback Everett Golson is also having a solid season after returning from academic suspension.
He has thrown 11 touchdown passes, but he threw his first two interceptions of the season against Syracuse despite throwing four touchdown passes in that game.
Meanwhile, the Cardinal are coming off a 20-13 victory over Washington. This improved their record to 3-1, and they are looking to stay in the Pac-12 title hunt with a loss to No. 16 USC already on their resume.
Quarterback Kevin Hogan had a respectable performance against the Huskies with 178 passing yards and one touchdown with one interception. He also added 53 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.
Wide receiver Ty Montgomery is their key playmaker since he is their top receiver while also being capable of picking up yards on the ground.
The Cardinal rank first in the country in scoring defense with 6.5 points allowed per game, so this game is sure to be a defensive battle.
Golson has the edge over Hogan at quarterback, and Notre Dame has home-field advantage and a defense that can neutralize the Stanford offense. This may go down as the game of the year.
Prediction: Notre Dame 21, Stanford 17
