The Notre Dame Fighting Irish held on for a 50-43 win over the North Carolina Tar Heels to improve to 6-0 while the Tar Heels lost their fourth game in a row.

No. 6 Notre Dame has prided themselves on playing great defense throughout the year, but they received a major challenge from North Carolina. However, they were able to escape with a 50-43 victory to improve to 6-0.
The Tar Heels held a 36-35 lead at the end of the third quarter, but the Fighting Irish scored 15 unanswered points to give themselves the lead that they would never lose.
This game marks the fourth consecutive loss for North Carolina as they fall to 2-4 after starting out the season ranked.
Quarterback Everett Golson had another impressive performance as he threw for 300 yards with three touchdowns and one interception on 21-of-38 passing.
Running back Tarean Folston emerged as a rushing threat for the Irish with 98 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. Golson added 71 yards on the ground in addition to his impressive passing performance.
Wide receiver William Fuller led the Irish in receiving with seven catches for 133 yards and two touchdowns.
For the Tar Heels, quarterback Marquise Williams threw for 303 yards and two touchdowns with one interception on 24-of-41 passing. He also led the Tar Heels in rushing with 132 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
