The #13 Georgia Bulldogs defeated the #23 Missouri Tigers 34-0, giving them complete control of the SEC East division as college football approaches its midway point.
Having to endure the suspension of star RB Todd Gurley due to NCAA rules violations, the Georgia Bulldogs relied on Nick Chubb to pick up the slack in the running game – and pick it up he did. Chubb carried the ball 38 times for 143 yards and a TD and added 4 receptions for 31 yards through the air as well. QB Hutson Mason played efficiently as well, throwing 22 of 28 for 156 yards and a TD.
But the key to Georgia’s shutout victory over Missouri was the turnover game: the Bulldogs forced 5 Tigers turnovers and held them to only 10 first downs in the entire game.
With the win, Georgia moves to 5-1 and has complete control over the SEC East. The Bulldogs play the Arkansas Razorbacks next week before a Week 9 bye.
Missouri falls to 4-2 and suffered their first loss in the SEC this season.
